Downtown Cleveland is Northeast Ohio’s fastest-growing neighborhood. Between 2013 and 2018, the Downtown Cleveland population grew by 48%, according to census data. In contrast, the fastest-growing suburb in Cuyahoga County grew by 3%.
This growth is due to the increasing value of convenience, walkability and community. Downtown Cleveland is the region’s “15-minute city,” where residents can walk, bike or scoot to meet their daily needs within a short distance from their homes. This value has only grown over the course of the pandemic, as easy access to amenities like greenspace, groceries, health care and safe community spaces has become vital to a healthy lifestyle.
